Like everyone, I%26#39;m looking for the perfect place to stay in Paris. There will be 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 teens and I need something that is not luxurious but will be in the center of things and give my kids a sense of being in another country. It would be nice to be near food shops where we could buy our own food and gather some atmosphere of a neighborhood.
I%26#39;d rather not have a room just like the double rooms we get in the states. And I%26#39;d rather not pay for 2 rooms for the 4 of us if possible. I%26#39;ve looked through many of the posts here and there are soooo many suggestions. Maybe someone could point me to just that perfect one.

I would try the Hotel de Fleurie. It%26#39;s well located and has rooms for families.
OR, you could rent an apartment which could end up cheaper in the end...

We are staying next month with our %26quot;tween%26quot; daugthers at the hotel Residence Foch rated #9 on this site. I have found communication with them to be excellent and they have what appears to be wonderful family rooms with the flair of Paris in a quiet residential area.

Have you thought about an apartment? That%26#39;s what my family usually does and we love it. There are several apartment sites posted on here, but in the past we%26#39;ve used Chez Vous (http://www.chezvous.com) and been very happy.

For the %26#39;..perfect..%26#39; hotel room for your family, perhaps you should be consulting your astrologer.....of Martha Stewart....but I%26#39;m pretty sure even they would want more detail on your personal preferences, priorities, special needs and especially hotel BUDGET. In the absence of these not-so-petty-details, check out--

Alternatives to hotels would be to rent an apartment or stay at one of the CITADINES APART%26#39;%26#39;HÔTEL properties located around Paris ( www.citadines.com/ )

We stayed with our family of six (mom, dad and four daughters) recently in a Paris apartment through ParisPerfect. It was fabulous and actually saved us a great deal on food. They have apartments of all kinds, most with a view of the Eiffel Tower. While the neighborhood is wonderful and you are literally blocks away (or one block in our case) from the Tower, it can be a walk to some other areas. There is a metro startion nearby so we bought a Carte Orange metro pass for the week and used it quite a bit. We were able to have every breakfast at %26quot;home%26quot; and quite a few dinners, with a dead-on view of the Eiffel Tower sparkling above our heads. The view was so worth it in terms of making our place one we loved to be in, not just home-base out of!
And if you are looking for a wonderful neighborhood, the food shops on and near the Rue Cler (sp) can%26#39;t be beat! What fun we had trying to be locals and getting food in the shops!
I would be hard pressed to stay in a hotel again!
