Can anyone please advise me of the cost of a Taxi from Nice Airport to Cannes.

Start saving now! Airport to Villefranche, which is about 10 kms is 60 euros. Cannes is about 30 kms, so I would guess at least 150 euros.

Did you check with ATS shuttles? Their website is http://www.a-t-s.net/index.php?id_entity=539 .
They may be your best bet at a rather cheap price (cheaper than a cab if you are only 2 people) and they drive you to the door. Very efficient, I always use their services.
