Saint-Ouen

my wife and I will be spending 4 days in Paris/St Ouen to do some of the flea markets. We are looking for some quality restaurants/cafes in the Saint-Ouen locale.

There are a few options at St-Ouen. At the back of the Marché Paul-Bert (on the left side at the far end from av Michelet) is Bistro Paul-Bert. Everything I%26#39;ve had there has been very good--especially the world%26#39;s largest croque-monsieur if it%26#39;s a special that day. The salads are enormous, as are the other traditional offerings such as pot-au-feu, steack frites, poulet rôti, etc. The service is a bit brusque because everyone is in a hurry.

Le Soleil is at 109 av Michelet (the main street from which you would ordinarily turn right to get to the antiques markets). Just walk straight ahead past rue des Rosiers. It%26#39;s supposed to be very good and was written up in Gourmet a couple of years ago. We%26#39;ve not eaten there, because we generally don%26#39;t have enough time at the market to take a leisurely lunch. If you choose it, I%26#39;d like to know your thoughts.

We%26#39;ve also had a good lunch at the restaurant one door before you get to Marché Malassis (not the horrible little stand in the middle of the fork in the road, though!!). Take note that the food is warmer than the welcome!
