Good cafes and restaurants near Avenue Champ Elysees?

Thinking of booking hotel near Arc de Triomphe for this Monday. Are cafes, restaurants in the area opened late. Much people walking about late at night? I want one very close to a metro station so I can easy access the attractions. Thank you .. 3 days to go and no hotel!! The ones I like are all booked.

Take a table outside in fair weather, sit and watch Paris stroll by.

go to the big brasserie on Place des Ternes , walk right , the Arc in front of you... open late

FOUQUET is the place where girsl %26quot;alone%26quot; are not admitted ,where the german chancellor KOHL used to have an ice cream , where you spent $$$$$ for lousy food.

Why not the Ducasse near by , it%26#39;s top of the line ...

Most of the cafes on the actual Avenue are open very late. Depending on what mood you are in, there is a wide variety of cafes and night clubs. There is a modern coffee shop in the Virgin Megastore and also in the FNAC store.

The Arc du Triumphe is THE BEST place to stay in Paris and is always my first choice. The Champs Elysees is truly a 24hour street and it remains busy all through the night.

Another thing I notice is that the street never fills with rowdy youths, it is always classy Parisiens taking in the night atmosphere.

Good luck!

so many police out there that the rowdy youth%26#39;s from the banlieu do prefernot to show up...

Alexth and I were supposed to meet Elliemae at Fouquets.

The waiter was so rude and the prices so ridiculous that we abandoned the thought and moved down the street to Laduree, where we had macarons AND tea for less than the cost of a mixed drink at F%26#39;s. To be avoided at all costs IMHO.

The neighborhood is open late, but is not nearly as fun as the Marais, or the Latin Qtr.

I like l%26#39;Alsace at 39 ave Champs Elysee. It is open 24 hours which is a big plus when your hunger pangs don%26#39;t match up with conventional dining hours. The menu is your typical brasserie fare: choucroute, shellfish platters and the like. They also offer a fixed priced menu option, which gives you 3 courses for around 40 euros. In the summertime, there is a very nice outdoor terrace where you can enjoy a cocktail or a light snack. In cooler weather I ask to be seated by the windows in front. From this vantage point I can watch all of Paris pass me by.

like phread i like laduree. the meals are not excellent but they are good, and well the pastries...no need to say more lol! i strongly suggest ispahan it%26#39;s so good! near the champs-elysees rue marbeuf there is l%26#39;entrecote, but big big queue everyday. it%26#39;s been a long time since i havent been to spoon but i remember its very good, and anneparis made a post about it saying it%26#39;s very nice today also (but not so cheap).

on the champs you can find everything you wanteven late. the drugstore isopen til 2am, there is a pharmacy, magazines, cigarettes, food, drinks etc. l%26#39;alsace is open all night long (2weeks ago i had there an andouillette with fries at...7 am lol). the champs are always busy, saturday nights are awful, i dont like some kind of people that you find on the champs and not in the marais or st germain (or at least not that much, and not coming to bother people like on the champs).

if you want people walking late at night, cafes etc open, go in st germain, the %26#39;population%26#39; is much more better, especially on saturdays (i%26#39;m sorry but i hate racailles, 2 times idiots with their bmw spitted on my car because i didnt want to reply, i saw many girls being really agressed, and for nothing i would walk alone on the champs late a saturday night, especially next the mc do and quick...).

We had a wonderful dinner at Laduree a few years ago...big portions for a French resto and beautiful room upstairs...very romantic in fact...busy downstairs..and terrace if you want..recommended..

Also L%26#39;Alsace as mentioned before...really great creme brulee ..huge..split it with my husband..and good salmon..neighbors had a seafood platter that was enormous...

For a much less expensive resto try Le Deauville for breakfast or lunch...We had a very decent breakfast for the price there once....

And know that probably the drinks are cheaper at the bars and cafes just off the Champs...That is where I caught many French military after the VE day parade last spring...having a good cold brew to relax..

I saw a lot of tourists on the Chamnps Elysees and it is not my favorite part of Paris but that is just my perso taste...
