we are celebrating our 25th anniversary in Paris, staying at the Bristol. I need suggestions for romantic, chic restaurants that are not in the stuffy, overpriced %26quot;haute%26quot; category. Thanks!

How do you define %26quot;romantic%26quot;? For me, totally romantic is Lapeyrouse, infused with history.
Le Coupe Chou is also noted as being very romantic. I%26#39;ll be going myself for the first time in a few weeks, but good friends (Parisians themselves) have said it%26#39;s great.
I%26#39;m wondering what your particular criteria are.

If you%26#39;re staying at the deluxe Hotel Bristol, what do you mean by %26#39;overpriced%26#39;? Please state in terms of euro how much your dining budget is.

A real nice one is Jacques Cagna (www.jacquescagna.com) in the 6th on Rue des Grands Augustins.
The decor and ambiance are very romantic, and the prix fixe is 90 euros. Jacques himself will probably greet you. I really like it there.

Susiparis, Le Coupe Chou is romantic and does not cost and arm and a leg. You%26#39;ll be very pleased.

A 25th wedding anniversary tends to be a bigger deal than many others and for this, you might want to %26#39;..raise the bar..%26#39; a bit and try something a bit more %26#39;..special..%26#39;. Le Coupe-Chou is certtainly a charming enough little place...and well worth trying sometime during your visit. But for a 25th...perhaps an establishment like La TOUR d%26#39;ARGENT is a bit more in keeping with such a %26#39;special%26#39; occasion.

How about Taillevent?
|||
For our 25th anniversary we are looking for restaurants that are more interesting and chic (maybe with a great view) rather than stodgy, stuffy, and formal. We don%26#39;t want restaurants like Taillevant and Tour d%26#39;Argent. I have read about the Cristal Room, Georges and the restaurant at the Costes hotel. How are those?

You may find the best of both world%26#39;s at chef-owner, Alain Dutournier’s Carré des Feuillants. It is top-notch cuisine, but not stuffy and the small dining rooms create an intimate, romantic setting. Here is the address:
Carré des Feuillants
1st arrondissement
14, rue de Castiglione
Paris, France 75001
01 42 86 82 82
Happy Anniversary!

Ack! Don%26#39;t do Georges in my opinion. Talk about snooty. Plus the food isn%26#39;t the greatest and it%26#39;s really expensive. Same with Costes. Snoot city. Both are very %26#39;hip%26#39;. Are you looking for %26#39;hip%26#39;?
Again I vote Jacques Cagna.

We are not necessarily looking for %26quot;hip%26quot; but we definitely don%26#39;t want over the top stuffy, formal either. We are looking for classic French, romantic, chic. What do you suggest? Thanks!
