Restaurants or bistros in paris

We will be staying at the Astor St. Honore in Paris next week. Any suggestions for a good restaurant that doesn%26#39;t break the bank? The concierge at the hotel as recommended Salardais and Benoit, but you never know when they are getting a cut just for recommending the restaurant.

%26quot;Right near the Pompidou Center, Benoit is chic and a bit more refined than some of the others on this list. It is also a little more expensive due, in part, to its Michelin star. Best dishes are the beef salad, blood sausage with apples, tongue with herb sauce, and the dense cassoulet.%26quot;

No self respecting, self-interested concierge would ever recommend a restaurant based on kick backs. The assumption is that if they need to pay for the rec, the rest. is no good. A lousy rec. means an unhappy client, which translates to no tip and no further requests.

A good concierge can double (and then some) his annual salary from tips. It is in his best interest to make good recs that keep those requests and those tips coming.
