Myself and my fiance are travelling to Paris for the weekend and have booked Le Train Bleu restaurant for evening dinner. Does anyone know whether the dress code is formal (as in compulsary shirt and tie) or would smart casual be acceptable?

It is a very beautiful place, you%26#39;d want to look nice. We were there in the summer and my men wore jackets (sport coats) no ties.
If you get a waiter by the name Yannick, observe him work. It is a pleasure to see how he moves. He is like a dancer, so gracious.
Enjoy.

Smart casual is fine for Le Train Bleu. The setting is a bijoux, but the clientele range from tourists to locals out celebrating to train travelers enjoying a meal prior to heading for the hills

When I went in April, I observed that most people were more formal; blazers, dresses, etc. However, I did sit next to someone who wore jeans for dinner. To his credit, he did seem embarrassed to be under-dressed, as he did not realize what a magnificent restaurant he would be going to that evening. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever eaten in. I know that you will love it!

It is a very good, beatiful place. Yes, it is inside the train station, but so what? The food is good, service is outstanding, enjoy.
