Accomodation in Dordogne

4 of us will be in Dordogne for about a week in late June. We were thinking of staying in Sarlat and taking day tours from there. We like to stay in the centre of town and would be able to pay about 60EUR per couple. Any suggestions would be welcomed

A great choice of destination. La Coulverine is that sort of cost but in small rooms. They have a new wine bar

There is a nice English speaking B%26amp;B around the corner almost in the town centre with a nice courtyard. Its called La Lanterne on sarlat.biz

Out of town there are some nice hotels in Beynac

In case anyone is looking here for suggestions...

I stayed in Beynac in September. I was very happy with the hotel the family Maleville runs a few places. I stayed in the village (not riverside) portion of the Hotel Pontet and thought it was terrific for the price! Cute, comfortable and clean.

I thought was great.

HOWEVER some hotels do not book online and don%26#39;t use email much, so be aware you may need to call/fax.

Bon voyage...

My wife and I stayed recently at the Chambre D%26#39;Hote (B%26amp;B) of Pierre-Henri Touleman. (www.toulemon.com) We also stayed there last year, paying 37 euros per night for a large room with modern private bath. We consider this the best accomodation value we experienced in France.

It%26#39;s on the edge of a Sarlat public square, right beside the old church used as a public market, a few steps from many interesting shops and restaurants. M. Toulemon will advise you about the many day trips or you can visit the tourist centre - it is a good one.

You can find lots to do around Sarlat and the Dordogne is beautiful.
