stay in a converted church in paris like we did

Hotel Saint Merry is a converted church in Paris and is a really unusual and cheap alternative to conventional hotels if anyone is planning a trip to paris and doesn%26#39;t want a flash hotel with lounge bar %26amp; restaurant etc

We stayed their for 2 nights in September and found it on the www.unusualhotelsoftheworld.com website

What an interesting site! Thank you, simpleimon.

Sorry, but 160-407€ doesn%26#39;t qualify as a %26quot;cheap%26quot; alternative in my book.

No, those rates are not %26#39;cheap%26#39;, I agree. And you can book directly with the hotel (and with other hotels) at www.france-hotel-guide.com. This is not an agency so no booking fees are incurred.

simple - you have a similar post on the London board - same www.site, and you said 80 pounds but the site said double that or something (as I recall)... Where do you get your prices? Did you get preferential treatment or something? The one you mention in London looks kewl too, but I can%26#39;t afford %26lt;i%26gt;those%26lt;/i%26gt; prices!

Simpleimon, I walked by St. Merry my first night in Paris 10 years ago -- and have walked by it innumerable times since --, and always thought it seemed very cool. Have wondered what it was like. My only reservation about it was that it seemed to be in a fairly boisterous part of Les Halles -- did you find the hotel noisy at night?
