Hotel de Fleurie, MILLESIME HOTEL, Hotel Verneuil

It%26#39;s my first time to Paris, and I%26#39;ve research a lot of hotels online. Narrowed down to 3, but can%26#39;t decide among Hotel de Fleurie, MILLESIME HOTEL, and Hotel Verneuil.

I want to be in the St. Germain des Pres area. I am looking for a room that%26#39;s quiet.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these?

Thanks

According to other messages/forums, the standard rooms at the Verneuil are extremely small - you%26#39;d need to get the deluxe room.

All the rooms at Millesime have queen-beds (no twins or king beds); again, have read that it is quiet at least w/windows closed, and you can request a courtyard room.

The Fleurie should be a good choice, too.

I%26#39;d try either Millesime or Fleurie before the Verneuil.

I%26#39;ve stayed at the Verneuil twice, once in a standard double room (#401) and the next time in a deluxe double room. If you can afford it reserve the deluxe double. The standard size room is large enough to fit just the bed and a very small desk and a chair. There is maybe no more than 18%26quot; to 20%26quot; of space on either side of the bed. However, my bathroom was a full bath complete with a bidet. I was feeling pretty closed in after two nights in this room. If you do reserve a deluxe room don%26#39;t reserve #302 as it%26#39;s not the largest deluxe double room as claimed in %26quot;Great Sleeps Paris%26quot; by S. Gustafson and a 2000 Travel and Leisure article. I was told by the night manager that #502, top floor, has large windows that let in the light which is nice to have when it%26#39;s wintertime and dreary outside. My relative stayed in #402 which I can highly recommend as the room has a comfortable space (for Paris). The bathroom is a bit smaller than the standard double bathroom that I had and has no bidet if that%26#39;s important. Also in the deluxe bathrooms they contain bathrobes.

Fyi, the deluxe double room I reserved was #302 which was pictured in the Travel and Leisure article. This room and all streetside rooms face Rue de Vernueil and if you are interested in Serge Gainsbourg, the rooms overlook his grafitti strewn home across the street.

I stayed at the Fleurie for a week in February. I liked it. Like all Paris hotels, rooms are small. However, the Fleurie was nicely decorated, the service was excellent, and the location was very good. It is off Blvd. St. Germain, so it is quiet. It is near the Odeon metro. It is also close to the Market Buci where there are nice places for breakfast and restaurants.

My wife %26amp; I stayed ay the Millesime for 3 nights in September in a Superior Double - on the 4th floor facing Rue Jacob. 205 euros per night - room was quiet despite being street facing, bed comfortable, spotlessly clean, reception staff friendly and helpful (day one they found a hacksaw and removed a suitcase padlock for which I%26#39;d lost the key!). We know Paris reasonably well so we did not need any help from the staff, and we ate out all the time - recommend La Petite Cour in Rue Mabillon - excellent food, service and outside terrace.

The location is great - well less than 5 mins to Bvd St Germain - almost right behind Les Deux Magots - great people watching - not cheap!

We staggered in at all tiomes of night and the night porter coped remarkably well.

For location and if you are happy to use it mainly as a base I%26#39;d have no hesitation in recommending it. I%26#39;d also recommend Les Rives de Notre Dame (bit pricier but right on the Seine with views of Notre dame), or Hotel Britannique just over the river at Chatelet Metro - small and charming and very good value.

Enjoy your trip!
