Most beautiful restaurant I%26#39;ve ever been to, but this was 2 years ago. ANy recent comments about price / quality ?

I was there a couple of weeks ago. Still a great place. Food %26amp; service impeccable. I guess its one of the timeless places where quality doesn%26#39;t seem to be compromised.

We went there in March. We had a group of 7, 4 of which were teenagers. The place was beautiful, the food was great and our service was excellent. The waiters treated us very special and brought little plates of different appetizers/desserts to the table so that we could try out several new things. It was a great experience.

See my recent trip report.
We dined at Le Train Bleu on Sat 17 September and had a wonderful night.
We had the set menu for 2 adults and 2 kids, which was fabulous and I thought very good value as it included wine and coffee etc.
The ambience is spot on, the staff terrific, the decor just awesome.
Cheers
Frodo :)

I wrote a full report on the place last spring. You should find it with the search function.
It was great.

We ate there in April off of the recommendations from this page. Loved the atmosphere and the food. Only thing I wasn%26#39;t up to was the rhum dessert. It was like a sponge cake or angel food cake split open with rum straight from the bottle poured on it. I made my husband order it for his dessert and he ate about six bites while I could only choke down one. My sorbet was delicious though and kindly let my husband finish it. Have fun!

Where is Le Train Bleu located?? What district?
|||
Train Bleu is right IN gare de Lyon. It is a large resturant one floor up on the front side of the station with a wide stairway going up.
And it is really neat.

Have a look at the film %26quot; Nikida%26quot; , a thriller. The main %26quot;killing scene%26quot; is right in the middle of this faboulus restaurant where President Mitterand used to have dinner. Or try %26quot; Aux Lyonnais%26quot; run by Alian DUCASSE near the Opera Garnier. Small but excellent food. ( Ducasse is a *** french cook )
I tried the %26quot;Coupole%26quot; ( fair but good decoration ) , near Montparnasse and %26quot;Chartrier%26quot; ( a must ! ) near the Gallery Lafayette. An unique place where you pay moreless nothing for food in an old cantina .Faboulus ambience of the early 1900.Nevertheless it%26#39;s listed in %26quot; the most beautifull restaurants in Paris ( %26quot;Les plus restaurants de Paris%26quot;) .I tried Bofinger near the new Opera ( boff.. ) Another one to go to :%26quot; Au petit riche%26quot; near grands boulevards. (Very nice %26amp; excellent food). Do not got to %26quot; Au peid de cochon%26quot; it%26#39;s to touristic.
