Hi,
Last time I was on Rue de Paradis there was a Beauty Supply Store is it still there?
Also as I was walking down that street I noticed a (looked-like) a cafeteria in a non discript room with everyone sitting at long tables. I really wanted to go in and buy my lunch but I was afraid it might have been just for employees. Has anyone any information of this.
I need to find very inexpensive ($5-6) %26quot;hot lunch%26quot; places for one person. I usually do the picnic thing, the gryro, the crepe, the grocery thing, the Dept stores cafeterias. I usually try to get one hot meal every third day. I will be just in Paris for 45 days
(total 90 days) and this trip will be a real budget killer with the dollar value!

You can enter %26quot;rue de paradis%26quot; and %26quot;Paris%26quot; into the yellow pages site:
http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/pj.cgi
and scroll the listings to find any beauty supply place.
I can recommend a place called %26quot;Flunch%26quot; for hot meals at a low price. It is set up like a self-serve (salad bar, fruit bar, bottled beverage..) and has a hot bar with several meat choices, frites... you take your tray to the cashier to pay, then on to your table. It isn%26#39;t fine dining but nothing wrong with the food, either. Busy with families and teens.

Also, look for %26quot;Asian traiteurs%26quot; which are like %26#39;deli counters%26#39;- you point at colorful, delicious foods and they heat in microwave and bring to your table. The food is sold by weight.

Thank you Travelnutty. I appreciate all the information!

Flunch is not a restaurant, it%26#39;s a horrible place to have something between your dents. My daugher felt sick after having eaten there. No way , sorry

If you are in the Place de la Madeleine area, there is a cafeteria in the basement of the Madeleine (along the street that runs along the RIGHT side as you face it%26#39;s front) which does a daily plat du jour lunch.

The OP is looking for cheap places to eat and a %26#39;restaurant%26#39; is not going to provide that. We have eaten at Flunch and I%26#39;ve read of others with children who%26#39;ve eaten there; no one says it is fine French cuisine but it is quite edible and a person can see the food and choose what they want. It serves the purpose just fine.
