of course- now I see you want NOVEMBER. Might be a little hard unless you can get your hotel to get you a reservation. They say they have cancellations at the last minute though, so it is still worth a shot...

I would do Le Grand Vefour, Taillevent, Ambroisie or Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athennee.

Of these, Taillevent and Alain Ducasse are close to the Champs.

Le Grand Vefour isn%26#39;t very far, it%26#39;s closer to the Louvre.

Ambroisie is at the Place des Vosges. Very romantic, wonderful food.

All are very expensive. But a meal of a lifetime.

I agree with Les on L%26#39;Ambroisie. It%26#39;s not near the Champs, but is just a 10 minute metro ride away. It%26#39;s a gorgeous 17th century setting, the service is astonishing and the food is among the best I%26#39;ve ever had.

Taillevent is splendid, but its ambiance is more cosmopolitan than romantic. Le Grand Vefour is one of the prettiest restaurants you%26#39;ll ever see.

You%26#39;ll get better directed and more meanigful responses if you provide some sort of price range for what you consider a %26#39;..fancy restaurant..%26#39;. As an example, at an establishments like Taillevent, Le Grand Vefours, La Tour d%26#39;Argent, dinner for two ordering from the prix fix menu will still run 350-500 €uro and quickly and steeply UP from there.

Maybe you can read my post about my dinner experience at Spoon, near the Champs Elysées.

It was called %26quot;Interesting dinner experience at Spoon by Alain Ducasse%26quot;. (the link was too long to copy/paste it).

For something fun and not too pricy, le Grand Colbert can be fun, especially if your wife has seen the movie, Something%26#39;s Got To Give. A scene was shot here. They closed the bistro for 2 weeks to do the shooting. It%26#39;s not near the Champs Elysees, but near Palais Royal and the Louvre.

Lots of them, but even more romantic take her to the Rodin/Camille Claudel Museum ... do you know the story of Rodin and Camille Claudel??
