Nice to Cannes, Cannes to Monte Carlo?!

Need a bit of help with distances.

Im staying in a friends apartment in Cannes and Im flying into Nice.

Correct me if Im wrong, From the airport I get a shuttle bus for 4 euro to the train station...

I would like to know how long the train takes from Nice to Cannes and from Cannes to Monte Carlo.

Four euros is correct. Nice to Cannes takes 42 minutes, although there is the occasional fast train that takes 23 minutes. Cannes to Monaco takes 1 hr 8 mns on the stopper. There are long gaps between trains in winter. Have a look at www.regionpaca.fr for timetable.

The airport is actually on the Cannes side of Nice, so it might be worth checking the cost of the bus direct from the airport to Cannes. Cost of the train to Cannes is about 6 euros.
