rain and open air markets

hi,

I%26#39;m heading to Paris for my first time tomorrow and sadly, it looks like it%26#39;s going to be raining the entire time I%26#39;m there.

I hope this isn%26#39;t a dumb question, but I was wondering if the open air markets will close because of the rain.

thanks

Rain is a fact of life in Paris and most regular vendors at open-air markets learn to deal with it---or go out of business in a hurry. So, on a decidedly rainy day, while many vendors may pack up early and go home, most will stick it out under a variety of %26#39;shelters%26#39;. The question probably isn%26#39;t whether the venders will be out in the rain...but rather, will you?...or will you be warm and dry inside somewhere else?

We leave tomorrow for Paris too. Like you, we%26#39;ve been checking the weather as well. I sure hope we have at least one sunny day for photo%26#39;s. Have a wonderful time!

Thanks, the information was helpful for me as well. For us,we%26#39;ll be on our honeymoon. This is a trip I%26#39;ve dreamed of. Of course I%26#39;d rather have the sunny weather for photo%26#39;s, but rainy weather can be very romantic as well. We are looking forward to a wonderful trip.

The venders were always under a tent like canvas cover.

I would try to go when the rain let up. I always bring an umbrella but if the wind kicks up the umbrella will go inside out.

I also wear a Gortex coat and hood. I do have and use a thick water repellent scarf that always came in handy and kept my neck warm too.

Not at all. I plan on being outside as often as possible. I%26#39;m thinking that my living in San Francisco for 17 years has turned me into a weather wimp. I don%26#39;t plan to let the rain hurt my vacation...I%26#39;m totally looking forward to it. I%26#39;m certainly glad to hear that the vendors work during the rain.

thanks

To Justasking- have a wonderful trip too!

Some good news about the weather....

They have predicted rain everyday for the past two weeks. We have had two days where it actually rained. One of those days the rain fall was in the middle of the night. The days, however have been unseasonably warm and absolutely glorious.

Temps did drop yesterday, but even if it rains, these have not yet been all day events, so there is hope for sunshine, as well.
