Hi,
We have a family reunion in late July 2006 in Paris and would like to find an area that all of us can stay in (without all having to be in the same hotel/apartment block).
Only thing is that we have a very broad group of people going, from young families with infants, to young couples (no kids) and older couples in their 50%26#39;s/60%26#39;s.
We also have a mix of people who have been to Paris a few times and others that have never been there.
Our reunion will be in the 7th but that is only one day out of an entire week stay so we are not wedded to staying in that area if it does not suit.
Can anyone suggest a %26#39;neutral%26#39; area that can satisfy everyone.
And to throw another curve ball, is not a very expensive area (around mid-budget).
Thank you in advance

The general area/neighborhoods of the upper-5eme--Latin Quarter and upper-6eme--Saint Germain des Prés (use the Jardin du Luxembourg to the Seine and rue des Saints Péres to the west and rue du Cardinal Lemoine/rue des Fossés Saint Bernard to the east, as rough guidelines) should fill the bill for interesting, convenient location with a broad selection of hotels in a variety of moderate price ranges within reasonable proximity, easy walking/strolling distances to a great many sites and attractions, excellent RER, Metro and public bus connections to everywhere else in Paris, more than enough good restaurants, bistrots, cafés to suit almost any taste, appetite or budget; plenty of interesting shopping alternative from local street markets to %26#39;grand magazins%26#39; within easy strolling/walking distances.
